I purchased this beautiful succulent trough for my daughter for her birthday. It was even more beautiful than pictured! The succulents were gorgeous and one was even flowering! It arrived exactly when needed. I would definitely purchase from Olive and Cocoa again. I am very happy and satisfied with every aspect of my purchase and delivery. Bought several of these for corporate clients and added their logo branded. All recipients were thrilled. We also got one for our office and we love it. Plants were unique, fresh and looked great.

I just sent this to my mom for her birthday and while the plants are beautiful they are all the same except for one, absolutely no variety like the picture depicts. They were all the spiky ones and I had read another review that stated this but hoped it was just a fluke. The whole point of ordering something like this is for the variety. Disappointed, not feeling like I got my money's worth, will not be ordering from them again.

I have been looking for something exactly like this so I was so excited when I saw it in the catalog, and it did not disappoint. I purchased this succulent trough for my Mom for Mother's Day and honestly, it was just okay. The picture on the website is obviously a more mature planting. The box was thinner than I expected. It wasn't horrible, just very expensive for 5 little succulents.

I purchased this for myself as I had been looking for a long wooden box to plant succulents in. I was also curious for future gift ideas how this would be packaged and arrive to your door. I was impressed how beautifully packaged it was and how it unwrapped to look just like the picture. Now I feel confident ordering live flowers/plants from the site.

Received this gift from my daughter also, had actually admired in the cataloguepreviously am following the directions and have not had problems, even havea shoot coming off of one that looks like a bloom

I asked my husband to buy this for me for mother's day. At first I was thrilled. It was impeccably packaged to protect and preserve the plants, and it looked exactly like the picture! But my initial pleasure quickly disintegrated. First, the trough was far rougher and more splintery than I thought it would be; something you have to handle with a degree of care and which doesn't feel good to touch. Second, it's a huge pain to water. The water runs straight through the trough, and you can't keep it sitting in any standing water, or it warps or rots the wood. So whenever I watered it, I had to carefully position it over the kitchen sink so that only the edges or corners were touching the counter, so that the water could freely drain out the bottom without pooling anywhere or causing a huge mess on the counter or floor. Even being careful in this way, the wood warped after the first time being watered, pulling away from the small nails that were holding it together. Third, the plants were not hardy at all. I read and followed the care instructions, but two of them died almost immediately (starting to wilt right after arrival), and the final three clung to life for a couple more weeks before giving up as well. (Full disclosure: I am admittedly very bad at keeping plants alive.) All in all, with the required 2-day shipping, we paid over $100 for a warped, leaky, splintery box filled with 5 dead plants which only lived for a few weeks, max. A total piece of junk. I was so disappointed. It was really beautiful when it first arrived, but I would never buy this for anyone else. It is neither well made nor long lasting. By contrast, I bought the little frog succulent at the same time, and that has proven super easy to water and care for, plus the succulents are still alive and well. (But we kept the frog outside instead of indoors, which may have played a part...?) Based on my experience, I would recommend the frog succulent over this trough. I'm honestly stunned that this trough gets good reviews.

last mother's day I purchased one of these for both my mom and my mother in law. They loved them! The plants came in great condition and the whole arrangement was so pretty. The succulents grew over time and they were able to replant them and use the box for other center pieces. Great gift.
